A Swiss Besançon tarot from 1784, cut by Bernard Schaer in Mümliswil, in the canton of Solothurn — the Two of Coins carries his name. It is the oldest Besançon here by a century, and the pack survives with its printed paper wrapper, which advertises it as coming from the source of good tarots. Like every Besançon it puts Juno at II and Jupiter at V in place of the Popess and the Pope, and keeps the Marseille order, where Justice is VIII and Strength is XI — the reverse of Rider-Waite-Smith.
